Easy Potato Soup

Need a good, easy soup recipe in between the holidays? Here you go! It's simple and basic. What's great is that you probably have most (if not all) of the ingredients in your house already.

Here's there recipe:
5 potatoes
1 diced onion
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
2 cup water
2 cups milk
2 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. butter
3/4 cup cheese

Peel and dice the potatoes
Put in saucepan; add in diced onion, salt, pepper and water
Cook until potatoes are tender.
Melt butter and mix with flour
Add butter and flour mix with the other ingredients in saucepan - mix thoroughly
Add milk and cheese until cheese is melted
Sprinkle cheese on top; add cumin if you want to a bit different flavor

ENJOY!

  1. Sounds great, Jamie! I think I'll try that this week because it is freezing here in MI.

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Did you hear we're moving to Nebraska?

  2. Can this be done in the crock pot? I've never tried a milk based product in a slow cooker. What do you think?

  3. Hey Christy! Yeah, I have put milk into the crock pot for other stuff and it works. I would think you could put everything in raw on high for about 4 hours or so (longer on low). You'll have to let me know if you try it!
