Domestic Day

I don't know exactly what I'm writing about yesterday, and I call it a "domestic day" for lack of a better term, but in a funny quiet way it is worth writing about. I did of a few things that I loved...
  • Baked bread (4 loaves). I've made wheat rolls and other breads before, but never a regular loaf of bread. We brought a loaf to a friend's house last night and it was a hit! I'm glad because you never know the first time you bake something and not having tried it myself before letting other people try it was a bit unnerving!
  • I also made homemade hummus. If you've thought about doing this at all, you should! It is so easy and saves a TON of money! I'll put the recipe up tomorrow.
  • I also worked on mittens I've been working on for Evee. They are now done and very cute! They match her hat. Now I'm finishing up something warm for around her neck.
  • I also got a few other chores done - basic kitchen and bathroom cleaning...
I'm trying to think of anything else I'm particularly proud of from today... I just really enjoyed being a wife and mom today! Some of the above things, as well as spending time with Evee, and then Clint when he got home, just made me so happy. I also feel so much peace in my home and life in this moment. Thanks for listening...

  3. I've been going through my grandmother's recipes lately.  I framed a few really old and well used ones to put up in my kitchen.  This has brought me some enjoyment lately.  Funny, my gradma had a bread recipe that Steve and I have been wanting to try together but I haven't had the nerve yet...yeast has not always been my friend.

  5. I love homemade hummus!! I make mine different every time! Lately I'm on a kick of using white beans instead of chick peas. It's good!
